Ron Paul weighed in on HR 3773 by saying, “This bill will allow the federal government to engage in the bulk collection of American citizens’ communications. In effect, it means that any American may have his electronic communications monitored without a search warrant. As such, the bill clearly violates the Fourth Amendment.” Rep. Paul went on to point out that of the 50,000 National Security Letters issued around 30,000 were issued, NOT for suspected terrorists, but for Americans. He later added, “When we come to accept that the government can spy on us without a court order, we have come to accept tyranny.”"

232 years ago when the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all people, yes all people of all the races, would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of every color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the American people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this check — a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have come to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of liberty. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of fear mongering to the sunlit path of equal liberty, equal opportunity, equal justice for ALL Americans. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quick sands of racial division, the tar pits of class division, from the encumbering weight of being divided against ourselves to the solid rock of brotherhood, people hood, human hood. This is our hood! Our country! The blood, sweat and tears of the people have poured out to care for, protect, and enrich all of us not just a few who profit at the expense of the sacrifice of the many. Not the elites who divide to conquer! Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children. To make alive the promise of individuality, life, liberty, property with a government that secures those promises, not one that infringes on those rights by fear and intimidation.
It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This coming sweltering summer of American's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Two thousand eight is not an end, but a beginning. Those who hope that the Americans who embraced the message of liberty by Dr. Paul needed to blow off steam and will now be content, will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to political business as usual. There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until American rights are recognized as unalienable, unchangeable, unlimited. The whirlwinds of this freedom revolution will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.
But there is something that I must say to my brothers who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

CHICAGO Lawyers representing the descendants of African-American slaves asked a federal appeals court Wednesday to a revive a landmark reparations lawsuit that demands that 17 insurers and banks publicize and pay for their roles in the slave trade.
The lawsuit, which names Wall Street giants JP Morgan Chase & Co., Aetna Inc., Bank of America, Lehman Brothers and others, says the companies' predecessors issued loans to slave owners and, in some cases, owned, insured and transported slaves — all at a financial profit that helped ensure their success today.

Editor's Note: The Fed just engineered a takeover of Bear Stearns by JP Morgan/Chase over this past weekend at $2 per share. Now Lehman Brothers faces a similar storm. The Euro will become the preferred currency of choice around the world, providing the Europeans with even greater political influence than the US has today. The crises of the collapse of the US dollar will help speed up the creation of a United States of Europe defense force. Europe will emerge from the economic chaos that will erupt across the world as the dominating economic power bloc. Germany, as the engine economy in Europe, and the largest nation, will be in the drivers seat for the direction this new Europe goes in. Meanwhile, the nations of North America will be asked to repay their massive external debts. Feb. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Iran's oil exchange will start operations on Feb. 17, the official Iranian news agency IRNA said, citing the country's oil minister.
The Iranian rial will be used for all transactions on the Tehran Oil Bourse, Gholamhossein Nozari said today, according to IRNA.
Iran, the second-largest producer in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, was originally expected to start its own oil-trading market in 2005. Bloomberg.com: Africa

They want us to believe that McCain won Texas in a landslide. A place where I have never heard anyone mention his name, never seen so much as a bumper sticker, and clearly a state that is covered by Ron Paul signs. Just for the sake of discussion let’s say it’s possible. What I find seriously hard to believe is this:
* Ron Paul got 70% of the vote in his district for Congress—–37,220 votes.
* In that same district they want us to believe he only got 9,931 votes for president.
* That equates to approximately ONLY 1 in 5 people that voted for him for Congress supported him for President. They can’t be serious. Don’t lie to me!!"

Peace Pilgrim (July 18, 1908 – July 7, 1981) born Mildred Lisette Norman, was an American pacifist, vegetarian, and peace activist. In 1952, she became the first woman to walk the entire length of the Appalachian Trail in one season.[1] Starting on January 1, 1953, in Pasadena, California, she adopted the name "Peace Pilgrim" and walked across the United States for 28 years.
